The National Association of Home Inspector’s new Executive Director Nick Gromicko has announced that NAHI has upgraded its Certified Real Estate Inspector (CRI) Exam to the proctored Inspector Exam of the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI®).
“InterNACHI’s proctored Inspector Exam is so much more comprehensive than the original CRI,” explained Gromicko. “We want NAHI inspectors to receive the best training available in the industry, and the proctored Inspector Exam is the right place to start.”
Gromicko, the founder of InterNACHI®, took over NAHI in December 2016, owing to its failure to thrive after nearly 30 years, as well as losing numerous lawsuits to InterNACHI®, even with the legal and financial backing of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI).
Gromicko says he’s resolved to support all home inspectors through a unified effort. “It’s the home-buying consumer who has as much to gain as home inspectors,” he said, “and that’s my goal: to serve the public, as well as the industry. Education and training are critical in meeting those goals.” InterNACHI® is now also offering its own members free membership in NAHI.
